Keywords, keywords... which are the best to use?

Good question, Now there is an answer. Up till now, the primary way was to grab a keyword list from any one of many sources. The problem with that approach though was that often you would pick a keyword with a high bid and create a page or site for it. Many times, the results would disappoint however. Why? Well, the truth is that many of these keywords are bogus opportunities as the bid amounts drop dramatically so that at advertiser 6 or 7 or 8, bid estimates have dropped to a few cents.

There is a solution however. A site that I've been working on for some time is going to blow the lid off Adsense and publish not just the highest bid amount but the Top 10 advertisers. The real power of this is that you get to see what everyone (the top 10) are bidding which means you can determine averages and overall, enter markets that are more buoyant and worthy of your time and energy. If the 9th of 10th advertiser is still bidding a couple of bucks, then this is a good market. Obviously, there is more to it than this and I encourage you to check out the new site. Over the coming days and weeks, you are going to be very surprised and some of the opportunities that are going to be revealed.

Translate your website and profit

Contrary to popular belief, English is a minority language on the Internet. In fact, only about 35% of the online Internet community is English speaking. That has huge ramifications if you're marketing anything on the internet, particularly if you have a product that is being distributed worldwide.

So what can you do about this? Well translation of websites is not a new idea but it sure is uncommon. Also, there are ways to do it and ways not to do it. If you want to maximize your websites potential, don't use on-the-fly services. Why? Well, they won't get additional pages indexed so they won't get additional traffic to your site. Also, if you're using Google adsense, then your ads won't come up in the translated language. What did I say? Yep, that's right, if your website is translated (properly) then your Google ads are displayed in the translated language. Makes sense right? In France, guess what language they see the Google ads in? F.R.E.N.C.H. Go figure... Same goes for any language - check out an example of a translated site I've been working on in Japanese. Have a look around. There may be some inconsistencies as Google indexes the translated site and still display the ads in English but once they understand the language the site is in, the ads will always come up in the translated language. Pretty cool eh?

But translating your website by humans can be pretty expensive especially if you're looking at lots of pages like the site above which has hundreds of pages. So what's a solution? Well software translations of course. But don't be fooled as their are good solutions and bad solutions. The translation solution I use and am happy with has proved to be a winner. It's fast, reliable and accurate. Best of all, it's very inexpensive at only $67.

One of the biggest benefits of translating not mentioned so far is that more traffic to your site in non-English versions of the site means that your site overall will move up in the traffic rankings which will have a positive effect on your Page Rank and will therefore result in more traffic for your main English site. So in conclusion, translating websites is a positive, a big positive. If you have not translated your site, your missing out on about 65% of the online world. When you walk down most cities in the US, you'll see signs in Spanish etc. So why not do it to your site?
